Maureen Susan McIver
1956-2026
It is with immense sadness that the family of Maureen Susan McIver announce her passing at the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Friday July 17th, at the age of 70. Born in Summerside March 5, 1956 to the late John and Miriam Johnston. Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her 6 children Patrick (Andrea Somers) McIver, Jacqueline (Jeff) Muttart, Charity (Peter) Waugh, Hugh John McIver, Rachel (Jamie Holland) McIver and Mary Beth (Spencer) Corcoran. Maureen will also be dearly missed by her 11 grandchildren Cole Somers, Ainsley and Marlie Muttart, Kate and Cameron Waugh, Will, Juliet and Halle Holland, Callie, Maura and Thomas Corcoran.
Also survived by her brothers and sisters Katherine Johnston, Paula Wilson, Austin (Lorna) Johnston, John R. (Gloria) Johnston, David Johnston and Clarence (Wendy) Johnston.
She will be forever missed by her much loved cats Zoey and Peppy.
Maureen is remembered fondly for her compassionate career as a Registered Nurse, being a great friend to all and the most loving mother and grandmother.
She was also well known for her work ethic and her ability to excel in many things such as cleaning, gardening, seamstressing, crafting and her holiday decorations.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Homecare Summerside, the staff at Prince County Hospital, especially the Medical/Palliative Unit, Dr. Scott Cameron and her two special friends that helped her greatly in the last 6 months.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Tuesday July 21st from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass Wednesday July 22 at 10:30 at the St. Paul’s Catholic Parish Church, 289 Winter St, Summerside, PE C1N 1N4. Interment in the St. Paul’s Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Prince County Hospital Foundation.
