Derek A. Francis

It is with great sadness that the family of Derek Arthur Francis announce his peaceful passing on June 24, 2026, at 5:50pm at the Prince County Hospital Summerside, PEI, the age of 75.

Born on August 10, 1950, in Southend-on-Sea, England, Derek immigrated to Canada at the age of 16. It was there that he met the love of his life, Renate. Together, they shared more than 53 years of marriage, building a life grounded in love, devotion, and family.

Over the years, Derek and Renate made their home in several communities before eventually settling in Prince Edward Island, where Derek spent his final days.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of more than 53 years, Renate; his children, Candace (Russell Fisher), Darren, Phillip; his niece Alexandria and his treasured grandchildren, Nixon, Oliver, Phoenix, Emerson, Presley, Ella, Veronica, and Sophia.

Derek will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering love for his family, and the many memories he created throughout his life. His kindness, presence, and the legacy of love he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
