With fond memories and grateful hearts, the family of George Bruce Aiken announces his peaceful passing.
George was the loving husband of Beverley and a proud father to Chris (Jane) and Robyn (Philip). He was a cherished grandfather to Rory and Meg, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Born on August 21, 1948, George was the beloved son of the late Robert and Alice Aiken of Stanchel, Prince Edward Island. He was a devoted brother to Cyrus (Heather), Rachel Jean "Gege," and Andrew (Carolyn), and was predeceased by his brother, Alistair (Marlene).
George will be remembered by his extended family, including many cousins, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Stanchel, George often joked that he had spent his entire life within a 30-kilometre radius of home. Deeply rooted in his community, he farmed in Stanchel and dedicated 40 years to education in Kensington. Throughout his distinguished career, he touched the lives of countless students, staff, and families. George retired as Principal of Kensington Intermediate Senior High School, leaving a lasting legacy of leadership, mentorship, and commitment to the young people and communities he served.
Known for his dedication, quiet wisdom, and strong connection to the Island he loved, George will be remembered by family, friends, former students, colleagues, and all those whose lives were enriched by his kindness and guidance.
His memory will be treasured by those who knew and loved him. The stories you have shared with his family about your connection to him have brought much comfort.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home for visitation on Tuesday, June 9 from 4:30-7pm. Graveside service at the Kensington People’s Cemetery on Wednesday, June 10 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Andrews of Stratford Activity Room Fund or a charity of your choice in George's memory.
