Jennie I. Macneill
1929-2025
It is with heavy hearts the family of Jennie Isabel Macneill announce her peaceful passing at Beach Grove Nursing Home, Charlottetown at the age of 96.
Born in Bayview PEI, on January 4, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Annie (Toombs) Moore. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband John Macneill, siblings Peggy Skinner (Alexander), Ethel Scott (Hector), Herbert Moore, Bessie Stewart (George), sister-in-law Mary Lowther (Edward), son-in-law Carl Ostridge, and daughter-in-law Juliet Wilson.
She is survived by her daughters Sylvia Ostridge, Elizabeth Orr (Gordon), and sons Robert (Jo-Anne Caza) and David. Grandmother of: Jason Ostridge (Jamie Ambrose), Hayley Ostridge, Jennie Ellen Orr (Michael Bergeron), Megan Orr (Devan Boertien), Kayla Jane Macneill, John Ross Macneill, Michael Macneill and great-grandmother of: Charlotte Ostridge, William Bergeron, Lilah Boertien. Also remembered by sister-in-law Myrna Moore, the Lowther family, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jennie was a devoted wife, loving mother and very proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Jennie was a teacher, an historian, with passions in sharing her love and appreciation for music as well as her dedication in ensuring that the legacy of L. M. Montgomery lives on. Jennie’s life-long service of commitment to her church and her community was just a part of who she was. Jennie lived a full and wonderful life - "A Life Well Lived." She will be greatly missed.
Sincere thanks and appreciation are extended to all the staff at Beach Grove Home for their extraordinary care and compassion. Their genuine kindness, love and professionalism to Jennie will never be forgotten. Thank you.
Resting at Davison’s Funeral Home, Kensington, PEI, with visitation on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am at Cavendish United Church on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Interment will take place following the service at the Cavendish Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cavendish Community Cemetery or the Beach Grove Recreation Fund.
