Bruce Gillespie

The death occurred peacefully at Andrews of Summerside on November 23^rd, 2022 of Bruce Gillespie; formerly of Indian River, PE. The son of the late Alexander and Dorothy Gillespie, he was born in Montreal on August 27^th, 1924. Husband of the late Yvonne Gillespie who predeceased him October 13^th, 2022. Bruce served with the Canadian Navy during World War II doing convoy escort in the North Atlantic. He was employed with the Royal Trust Company at various locations across Canada prior to retiring in 1979 to his farm in PEI. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Michele (Garth) McNeill of Summerside and son Alex (Sarah) of Toronto. Also left to mourn are his grandchildren Sean McNeill (Stephanie Steele) of Charlottetown, Caitlin & Ryan Gillespie of Toronto and great grandchildren Eleanor & Juliana McNeill of Charlottetown. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Alan (Sally) Perodeau of Montreal. Bruce was predeceased by sister Elizabeth (Dr. John) Downing and brother-in-law Giles (Pooh) Perodeau. No visitation by personal request. A private committal service will be held at St. Stephen Anglican Cemetery, Irishtown PE.
