Harry P. Joostema

The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, at the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Thursday July 2, 2015 of Harry P. Joostema of Springfield aged 80 years. Born in Minnertsga, Holland on November 24, 1934 son of the late Pieter and Metje (Meerstra) Joostema. Harry was the beloved husband of Ida (Buma) Joostema. He is the beloved father of Irene (Stephen) Hickey and Peter (Monica) Joostema. Special Pake to Gavin, James and Harrison. Dear brother of Anneke Bos (Henk), Ternaard, Holland. Brother-in-law of Frieda Campbell (Scott- deceased), Ontario. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law Wally (Peter) Elsinga, Neeltje (Riantje) de Roos and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ellen (Ted) de Vries.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington. No visitation by request. A public funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in St. Elizabeth’s Anglican Church Cemetery Springfield. If so desired contributions may be made to the PEI Lung Association or the Prince County Hospital Foundation.
