George F. Montgomery
1937-2015
The death occurred peacefully on January 12,
2015 at the Prince County Hospital of George F Montgomery of
Summerside, in his 78th year with his loving wife of 59 years and
family by his side after a lengthy illness. Born in Summerside,
formerly of Bedeque, son of the late William and Myrtis
(Picketts). Husband of Kathy (Smith), Summerside. Father of Bill
(Yvette), Borden-Carleton; Donnie (Lynn), Lower Bedeque; Jane (Terry)
Little, Fergus,Ont.; Anne (John) Phillips, Arlington; John (Janice),
Borden-Carleton and Paul (Grace), Middleton. Grandfather to 17
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also survived by his best
friend and canine companion, Shaymus. Brother-in-law of George
(Marion) Smith, Eleanor Grady, Stewart Grady, Joanne (Don) Wright and
Gerald (Terri) Smith. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Predeceased
by his parents and only brother Norman, daughters-in-law Lori
(Higgins) Montgomery and Bev (Sharkey) Montgomery, brothers and
sisters-in-law Shirley and Murray Hurlburt, Bill Smith, Bennie Grady,
and Margie Grady.
Resting at Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Brethren of Mount Moriah Lodge #15 Bedeque will hold a Masonic Memorial Service at the funeral home Thursday at 9 p.m. Funeral Friday at the Bedeque United Church at 2 p.m. Interment will follow the service in the Lower Bedeque Cemetery. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Prince County Hospital Dialysis Unit.
The family wishes to thank all of the Prince
County Hospital staff, with a special thanks to those who work in the
Dialysis Unit who were so wonderful to George and his family over the
years.
