Vera Lucretia (Henderson) Caseley

1923-2014

We lost a sweet, gentle soul, Vera Lucretia (Henderson) Caseley, age 90, on August 15, 2014 in Summerside, PEI.  Born in Margate, Vera was the daughter of the late Henry and Frances (Durant) Henderson.  She started her work life in Lynn, Massachusetts.  She then returned to Margate, and in 1947, married the late Harry Caseley.  Together with Harry, she owned and operated Caseley’s Diner in Kensington.  Once the Diner closed, she spent many happy years working at Woodleigh Replicas until she retired.  Upon retirement, she quickly developed a passion for pottery and ceramics which led to her final passion for china painting and other artistic endeavours.  Vera was predeceased by her husband Harry, sister Kathleen Lewis and brothers Ian Henderson and Arthur Henderson.  She is survived by her daughter, Frances (Grant) Mailman, son, Clifford (Betty) Caseley and son, Stephen (Julie Clarke) Caseley.  Vera was very proud of her grandchildren, Robin (Angela), Angela and Christopher Mailman, Jennifer Caseley (Dave) and Kelly Caseley (Roger), Jesse Caseley, Max Clarke, Abby and Jaime Clarke Caseley, Sam and Andy Clarke.   She is also survived by great-grandchildren Emily and Kate Mailman, Gabriel, Scarlet and Julian Carter-Caseley.  She is survived by sisters Ruby Hooper, Shirley Hardwick, and Fran Henderson, as well as brothers Phil Henderson and Paul Henderson.  Cremation has taken place.
