Peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor Summerside on Monday June 9, 2014 of Percy R. Rayner formerly of St. Eleanor’s aged 94 years. Veteran of World War II.  Born in Greenmount on March 22, 1920 son of the late Melvin and Elizabeth (Jones) Rayner. Husband of the late A. Joyce (Smith) Rayner. Father of Diane (Gordon) MacLaren, Wilmot Valley. Grandfather of  Christa (Stephen) Hynes, Quispamsis, NB and Craig (Kendra) MacLaren, Wilmot Valley. Great-grandfather to Kayla, Riley, Josh and Faith.

Brother of Thelma (Karl) Hess. Brother-in-law of Bernice Rayner, Lorne MacCallum, Blanche "Dolly" (Everett) Adams, Marion (Donald) Williams,  Bonita (Gerard) Doucette, Winston (Lynn) Smith. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Alvin (Frances), Howard (Emily), Merrill (Theresa) and Malcolm Rayner and sisters Mary (Thorne) Affleck, Edna MacCallum, Winnie (Ernest) Getson, and brothers-in-law  and sisters-in-law George (Lila), Elvion "Al" (Lucy), Florence and Alice Smith.

Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m.  Funeral Thursday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m.  Interment in the Lot 16 United Church Cemetery.  If so desired contributions may be made to International Children’s Memorial Place or Lot 16 United Church Cemetery Fund. Comrades of the George R. Pearkes VC Branch # 5 Royal Canadian Legion, Summerside will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 6:30
