At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday January 13, 2012 of Edith "Edie" (nee Gale) Burke, of Wedgewood Manor, Summerside and formerly of Borden Carleton and Fortune, aged 86 years. Born in Poole, England on December 12, 1925 daughter of the late Gerald and Elsie (Foote) Gale. Wife of the late Eldon Burke. Mother of Terry (Linda), Mississauga, Ontario; Gerald (deceased); Derek, Barrie, Ontario and Karen (Paul) Caissie, Irishtown. Mother-in-law of Eileen Burke, Gravenhurst, Ontario. Grandmother to Tara (Barry) Burke-McEwan, Ryan (Leanne) Burke, Rodney (Leanne) Burke, Tracy (Mike) Burke-Ferrier, Jason (Melanie) Burke, Angela Burke, Sara, Brye, Matthew and Michael Caissie. Great grandmother to Miranda, Abigail, Carter and Taylor Burke.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Thursday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Comrades of Branch # 10 Royal Canadian Legion Borden-Carleton will hold a tribute service at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m.
