Peacefully at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud on Saturday July 17, 2010 of Ruby I. Gill formerly of Pleasant Valley, aged 98 years. Born in Pleasant Valley on October 14, 1911, daughter of the late Richard and Mary (MacLeod) Smith. Wife of the late Herbert Gill. Mother of Carol (Harry) Robblee, Tryon. Grandmother of Albert McAllister (Darlene), North Tryon; Frank (Lynn) Robblee, Tryon; Ann Robblee, Florida; Linda (Steven) Thomson, North Tryon; Coralee Mazurek, North Tryon and Elaine (Rob) Nurse, Clam Bay, Nova Scotia. Great grandmother of Jocelyn, Spencer and Alexa McAllister, Rowan and Davis Robblee, Zachary and Brady Thomson, Sydney and Halle Mazurek, Shelby, Clay and Sheadyn Nurse. Sister of George (Dorothy) Smith, Barbara (Robin) LaGrandeur, Evelyn Mayne (late Fenton) and Laura Smith. Sister-in-law of Mary Smith. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Roger Gill, sisters Mae MacLennan (late John), Ruth Reeves (late Clarence), brothers Willa, Gerald (late Georgie), Claude, Charles, Ralph and Roy Smith.

Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
