Henry Ernest Meek, formerly of Kensington and French River. Veteran
of World War II, having served with the P.E.I. Highlanders, aged 88
years. Born in Spring Brook on March 7, 1922 son of the late Reagh
and Winnifred (Marks) Meek. Beloved husband of 67 years to the late
Elva (Paynter) Meek, who predeceased him on April 18, 2010. Dear
father of Gerald (Jean), Summerside; Stephen (Corinne), Whitby,
Ontario; Jane (David) Younker, Kingston; Janice (Ricky) Trowsdale,
Summerside and Darin (Kathleen), Charlottetown. Father-in-Law of
Eleanor Meek, Charlottetown. Loving Grandfather to Tammy, Jamie,
Sherri (Gerd Pohlers), Tracy Plaggenhoef (Derrick), Amanda, Jeff, Cory
Trowsdale, Melissa Trowsdale, Chalyce, Taylor, Step Grand-children
Joey Trowsdale, Ernest Trowsdale, Flo Younker, Kellie-Lynn Younker and
Ann Younker. Great-grandfather of Ashley and Amy Plaggenhoef, Harper
and Oliver Pohlers Meek and Sebastan Trowsdale. Brother of Florence
Fletcher, Summerset Manor, Summerside. Brother-in-law of Adele Meek,
Margaret Coles, and Clair (Lydia) Paynter. He was predeceased by sons
Roger and David, sisters Theresa Murphy, Mary Bryanton McGee, Dorothy
Winnifred and Olive Pauline Meek, brother Oliver Meek, brothers-in-law
James R. Murphy, Jack Fletcher, Roy Bryanton, Eugene McGee, Waldo
(Mildred) and Ivan (Gladys) Paynter and Edwin Coles.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington for visitation on
Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday in the Davison Funeral
Home Chapel at 10: 30 a.m. Interment in St. Thomas Anglican Church
Cemetery, Spring Brook. If so desired memorial contributions may be
