It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the most amazing wife, mother, nanny, daughter and sister Karen Ann (Nee Rix) Paynter of Kensington on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 while on vacation.

Karen was born January 26, 1966 in Summerside, PEI to her loving parents Carmelita (MacDonald) Rix and the late Wayne Rix. Karen will greatly be missed by her husband of 40 years Dale Paynter. Left to cherish her memories are her children Russel (Heather), Christine, Crystal (Jamie Mcmullin), Roger (Kayla), and Carrie. Very special nanny to Cameron, Jaden, Caleb, Julia, Aiden, Lily, Chandler, Cali, Dominic, Dustin, Darrien and Devin. Special fur babies Skye and Kitty.

Beloved sister to Kevin and John (Debbi) Rix, Joan (Earl) Reid. Daughter-in-law of Dorothy (Connick) and the late Leslie Paynter. Sister-in-law of Cindy (Buddy Farish), Sue (Kevin) Mann, Corey (Kelly). Also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pre-deceased by her nephew Jeremy Paynter.

Karen will be fondly remembered and missed by her chosen children/grandchildren who always felt welcomed and loved by her. Karen will be remembered as a devoted hockey nanny and #1 fan of her hockey boys. She will be watching and cheering from up above.

Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Thursday April 4th from 4-7 p.m. Members of Lt. Col. E.W. Johnstone Branch No. 9 Kensington Royal Candian Legion Ladies Auxillary will hold a service at the funeral Home Thursday Afternoon at 3:45 p.m.  Funeral Friday April 5th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel and will be available to view online. Interment in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Indian River. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Association would be greatly appreciated. www.davisonfh.com
