Lawrence Smith

With sadness, we announce the passing of Lawrence Smith on February 26^th, 2024, Darnley, formerly of Ontario, age 79.

Born in Newcastle-On-The-Tyne, England, immigrating to Canada in 1948. Son of the late Edgar and Elizabeth (Stanbridge) Smith. Husband of Janet (Caseley) Smith. Loving step-father of Blair Hickox, Toronto; grampa of Alexander Hickox, Toronto.  Survived by sister Peggy Champion, St Catharine’s, On; brother-in-law Blair (Ardene) Caseley, Spring Valley; special nieces and nephews Robert Champion, James Champion, Heather Mambella, Trent Caseley, Kim Arsenault and David Doull; great nieces and nephews; special friend Rosa Migliazza. Predeceased by brother-in-law Lleu Champion and sister-in-law Pauline Doull.

Lawrence retired from General Motors, then worked for 12 years as a long distance truck driver. He actively enjoyed fishing, antiques and gardening.

Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington.  No visitation or funeral service by personal request.  Interment later in St. Stephen’s Anglican Church Cemetery.  If so desired contributions may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or a Charity of your choice.
