Rev. Donald Malcolm MacPherson

Peacefully, at the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Tuesday April 27, 2021 of Rev. Donald Malcolm MacPherson of Summerside aged 73 years.  Born in Chatham NB on May 20, 1947, son of the late Rev. Elwood and Alma (Graham) MacPherson.  Husband of Mary E. (Baird) MacPherson.  Father of Scott (Samantha) MacPherson, Jennifer (Eddie) MacPherson Juman and Michael (Ashley) MacPherson.  Grandfather of Morgan, Nicole, Emily, Noah and William.  Brother of Graham MacPherson (Darlene), Rev. Sandy (Heather) MacPherson and Heather-deceased (Harry Wilkes).  Brother-in-law of David (Sue) Baird, Jim Baird and John (Janet) Curwin.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

Don started his career as a teacher for the hearing impaired in Amherst NS, and went on to work for city business development in Fredericton  and Moncton.  After becoming ordained he served as the Minister for the  Bedeque North Pastoral Charge and then Memorial United Church in Murray  River. He was a past president of the PEI Presbytery and served as Chaplain to the RCMP.  Don had become an active brother of King Edward Lodge # 16 A.F.& A.M. in Malpeque.  He became an avid golfer in recent years. Don had an ability to make friends wherever he went and was loved by all who knew him.

Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington.  Due to Covid 19 restrictions no public visitation will be held.  A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date.  A private interment took place in the North Bedeque Cemetery.  If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the International Children’s Memorial Place.
