We are broken hearted to announce the passing of Russell Haines. He lost his courageous year long battle to Mesothelioma Saturday May 19th surrounded by his family. Devoted husband and companion of 60 years to Pearle, the most amazing father to Margy and Andrew, Conor and Andrea, Cameron and Jacqui, and Beth. Loving big brother to David (Elsa). Proud and loving Grandfather to Chad, Marlene, Conor Peter, Cameron, Russell, Mackenzie, Aidan, Matthew and Abbey.
Throughout every step of his life he made amazing friends that he kept with him. We love you, adore you and miss you so much Dad. We will do our best to carry on your legacy of living life to the fullest every day.
A funeral will be held on Saturday May 26 in Kensington PEI at St Mary’s Holy Family Parish at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers it was Russell’s request that a donation be made to the Friends of St Mary’s, a non-profit organization that supports the restoration of the historic St. Mary’s Church in Indian River, PEI. Their website can be found at https://indianriverfestival.com/venue/friends-of-st-marys/. This was our Mother’s lifetime family parish and where we attended mass every summer. One of Dad’s favorite things was the fellowship on the front lawn after mass.
