At the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Tuesday February 27, 2018 of Cyril J. Gallant of Garden Dr. Kensington aged 98 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born in St. Raphael June 10, 1919, son of the late Henry and Loretta (Gaudet) Gallant Husband of the late M. Theresa (Thibeau) Gallant. Father of Bob (Maria), Kensington; Doreen (Bill) Bryanton, Kensington; Eddie (Sherla), New Annan; Gary (Gloria), Wilmot Valley; Betty (Ivan) Gallant, Kensington; Ronnie (Thelma), Kensington; David (Donna), Kensington and Billy (Karolyn), Winsloe. Grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Brother of Raymond (Beatrice), Leonard (Patricia-deceased). Brother-in-law of Art (Grace) Thibeau; Fred (Waneatta); George (Lynda) Thibeau, and Jean (Lawrence) Coldwell, and Phyllis Thibeau.
Predeceased by his daughter Linda at age 14 months, a child in infancy, brothers and sisters Alyre (Elva), Wilfred, Theresa (Adelard), Cecile (Benoit) Rita (Eddy), Elaine (Peter) LeBlanc, Marie (aged 9) and his brothers-in-law Joseph (Evelyn), Billy, Francis, Leonard and Gilbert Thibeau.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Comrades of Lt. Col. E.W. Johnstone Branch # 9 Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Friday evening at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass Saturday at St. Mary’s Holy Family Church Kensington at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery Indian River.
