Joseph Justin (Dusty) Reid
1921-2018
On 14 February 2018 Joseph Justin (Dusty) Reid, passed away peacefully at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital, at the age of 96. Justin was born on 28 December 1921 in Campbellton, PEI to the late Flora (O’Connor) and Joseph Reid. He was a World War II Veteran and he served in the Air Force from 1941-1946 and then in the army from 1954-1970. He resided in Renfrew, Ontario from 1983-2018, his last years spent in Quail Creek Retirement Home. Justin is predeceased by his first wife Dorothy Mary (Bryanton) from Spring Valley PEI who passed away on 9 September 1977. Justin is survived by his son Justin Gordon Reid (Janice Nobel), granddaughter Shona Reid, Vancouver BC , daughter Debbie Reid, Stratford PEI and granddaughter Michelle Reid, (Mark) Ibiza, Spain. Justin was one of six children, his siblings who all predeceased him were Eileen (McAleer), Penelope (Penzie McAleer), Thomas, Louis and Daniel.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Comrades of Lt. Col. E.W. Johnstone Branch # 9 Royal Canadian Legion Kensington will hold a service of remembrance Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass Wednesday at St. Mary’s-Holy Family Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment in People’s Cemetery Kensington. If so desired contributions may be made to Lt. Col. E.W. Johnstone Branch # 9 Royal Canadian Legion.
