The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside on Thursday November 23, 2017 of Sutherland O. (Sud) Cousins formerly of Malpeque aged 89 years. Born in Baltic Lot 18 on November 17, 1928 son of the late Robert S. and Louise (Ramsay) Cousins. Husband of Altheia (Bryanton) Cousins. Father of Thelma Bryanton, George (Anne) Cousins, Dale (Christine) Cousins, and Sandra (Paul) Cornish. Grandfather of Patsy (Gary) McAssey, Krista Bryanton, Amanda (Mike) Pitre, Kelly (Sheldon) Bowness, Brenda Cousins (Korey O’Brien), Nicolas (Lesley) Cousins, Kendra Cousins and Tyson Cousins. Great grandfather to Rob and Colin McAssey, Shavon and Daylen Bryanton and Riley Warren. Brother of William Cousins (Dorothy Beairsto), Mary Hickey and Florence "Fluff" (Burrows) MacPhail. Brother in law of Shirley Cousins, Mary Cousins, Judy Cousins, Erma Adams, Verna Clark, Vivian (Morris) Burns, Janette Bryanton, Robert (Joyce) Bryenton, Clifford Bryenton, Irene (Doug) Gill, Janet Bryanton, Jackie Bryanton, Carolyn (Jim) Lanigan, Bruce Bryenton (Bruce C.), Gloria Ellis and Lois (Gerald) Caseley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by son-in-law Carl Bryanton, brothers Arthur, Fulton, John, Robert Keir and Norman Cousins; sister Edith Woodside; sisters-in-law Marilyn Cousins and Elaine Cousins and brothers-in - law Delmar Woodside, Elmer Hickey, Paul Ellis, Erwin, Winston, Charles, Alton, and Wendell Bryanton (in infancy).
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington where a private funeral service will be held on Sunday. Interment in Malpeque People’s Cemetery. No visitation by personal request . If so desired contributions may be made to the Malpeque People’s Cemetery Fund or Summerset Manor Equipment Fund. Due to allergies please refrain from wearing scents.
