At the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Thursday September 28, 2017 of Bessie M. Paynter of Borden-Carleton aged 84 years. Born in Augustine Cove on January 21, 1933 daughter and last surviving member of the late William and Lillian (Milligan) Burke family. Wife of the late Alfred P. Paynter. Mother of Gertrude (Keir) Compton, Linkletter; Alan (Gloria), Marion (Hal) Sanderson, Sandra (Ralph) Coughlin and Walter (Sandra) all of Borden - Carleton. Grandmother of Jason (Melissa), Greg (Julie), Kendra (Josh), Ashley (Greg), Brandy (Luke), Jeff (Melissa), Chris (Michelle), Melissa (Dave), Mark (Taylor) and Sara. Great grandmother of Tanner, Alex, Alice, Lucas, Colby, Liliya, Caydence, Colton, Kristen, Emma, Samantha, Isaiah, Ben, Julien and Logan. Sister-in-law of Charles Paynter, Glenn (Connie) Paynter, Gertrude Paynter MacDonald, Katherine Paynter, Wilda Paynter, Jean Burt and brother-in-law Orville (Carol) Dawson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brother and sisters Earl (Debbie) Dawson, Catherine (Keith) Adams and Shirley (Claude) Stewart and sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law Jean Paynter, Ruth Carr, Pearl (Morley) Crozier, Marjorie (Colin) Burt, Hazel (Ivan) Somers, Joyce Dawson, Hollis MacDonald, Norris, Walter, Arthur, Ivan, James (Marjorie) and Lowell (Esther) Paynter.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Monday at the Bedeque United Church at 11 a.m. Interment in the Cape Traverse United Cemetery.
