The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Wednesday August 16, 2017of Harmon Trueman Black of Andrews of Parkhill Place Summerside and formerly of Kensington, aged 93 years. Veteran of the Second World War, Born in Amherst, NS on September 7, 1923, son of the late Clarence and Ethel (Trueman) Black. Husband of the late Edna L. (Hickox) Black. Father of David (Linda), Florida; Peter, Rennie’s Road; Ron (Cindy), Summerside and Roxanne (Larry) Kilbasco, Kensington. Grandfather to Dan Black, Sabrina Black, David Black (Tina), Matthew (Brit) Black, Celina Black (Mike Skalicky), Jenna Black (Daniel Luke), Rhonda Black, Sandy Nadeau (Kevin), Brent Kilbasco, Celia Lawton, Valann Kilbasco and Spencer Kilbasco. Brother of Kathleen Moldestad.
Predeceased by daughter-in-law Linda Black, sisters Alice Carmichael and Helen Trueman, brother-in-law Lloyd Hickox (Josie), sisters-in-law Hilda Stead (Alfred) and Evelyn Younker (Claude).
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington. No Visitation by personal request. Public Funeral service will be held Friday in Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Central Queens United Church Cemetery, Hunter River. If so desired contributions may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the PEI Lung Association. Comrades of Lt. Col. E.W. Johnstone Branch #9 Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Thursday Evening at 7 p.m.
