At the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Saturday March 4, 2017 of John S. (Jack) Gunning of Summerside, aged 75 years. Born in Summerside on April 8, 1941 son of the late Stanley and Ethel (Smith) Gunning. Husband of Beverley (MacLeod) Gunning. Father of Darryl Gunning. Brother of Donnie (Debbie) and James Gunning. Brother-in-law of Allen Phillips and Carl (Sybil) MacLeod. Uncle of Susan (Mike) DesRoches, Charlene, Donnie Jr. and Steven Gunning, Dianna (Rick) Doucette, Davey (Karen) Phillips, Tammy (David) Silliker, Michael (Melissa) Bernard, Deidra Ferguson and Blake MacLeod. Also survived by a number of cousins. Predeceased by his sisters Eleanor Phillips and Shirley Bernard and father-in-law and mother-in-law Bruce and Georgie MacLeod.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Tuesday from 1-2:45 p.m., followed by funeral in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Interment in Geddie Memorial Cemetery, Spring Brook. If so desired contributions may be made to the Geddie Memorial Cemetery or Trinity United Church.
