J. Bennett MacDonald

Peacefully with his family by his side, at the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Wednesday January 4, 2017 of J. Bennett MacDonald of Travellers Rest aged 85 years.  Born in Travellers Rest  on June 11, 1931 son of the late Daniel and Clara MacDonald.  Husband of Marie (Dekker) MacDonald. Father of Lynn (Barry) Campbell; Glen (Paula) MacDonald; Francie (John) Peters; Sandra (Wayne) Checkley and Donald MacDonald.  Grandfather of Lisa (Ian) Thibeau, Justin (Angela) Campbell,  Jeff (Jessica) Cormier, Krystal (Josh) MacKenzie, Jamie Cormier, Miranda (Ryan) MacLeod and Glenda MacDonald. Great-grandfather of Aiden, Kali, Logan, Mattie, Regan, Quinn, Jaxen, Avelyn, Clara and Braelynn.  Brother of D. Alex MacDonald and Allan (Leona) MacDonald. Brother-in-law of Adrian (Isabel) Dekker, John (Vera) Dekker, Petter (Vicky) Dekker and Betty (Kenneth) Mann.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by son Daniel in infancy, brothers Ronald (Rosella) MacDonald, Hubert (Mary) MacDonald, sisters Mary (Walter) Leschuck, Jean (Alex) MacDonald, Florence (Alex) Simpson, Margaret (Ben) DesRoches and Marjorie (Ernie) Brennan, sisters-in-law Kaye MacDonald, Beulah Dekker and Kathleen (Alfred) Mugridge.

Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Friday from 4-7 p.m.  Funeral Mass Saturday at St. Paul’s Church Summerside at 10 a.m.  Interment later in St. Paul’s Cemetery.  If so desired contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Cancer Society.  www.davisonfh.com
