James Joseph "Jimmy" Hughes
1932-2016
HUGHES, James Joseph (Jimmy) was born on March 19, 1932 in Georgetown, PEI and passed away suddenly on October 15, 2016 in Summerside. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Trudy Corbett-Hughes, daughter Darlene (Raymond), son Wade (Denise), step-daughter Gail (Robert), step-son Jonathan, grandchildren Ellen, Kurtis, Todd, Michael, Alison (Sam), Jane, Stephen, and Thomas, sister Katherine and brother John. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Doreen, his parents Wade and Ellen ( Keays); brothers Billy and Tommy; sisters Doreen, Mary Doris ‘Mudgie’, Geraldine ‘Pee Wee’, and Eileen, and step-son Albert. Jimmy was well-known for his interest in politics, passion for golf and his frequent outings with family and friends. Jimmy will be sadly missed by all.
Visitation will take place Tuesday evening, October 18, 2016 at Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, PE from 7 - 9 pm also on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Dingwell funeral Home in Souris from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Funeral to be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Chruch in Souris, October 20, 2016 for funeral mass to be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment at St. Alexis Cemetery, Rollo Bay.
