Margaret J. Kraner

1924-2016

Margaret J. Kraner

On June 21, 2016, Margaret Kraner, 92. peacefully passed away at Clinton View Lodge, Clinton, PEI.

Margaret, daughter of Harold and Jessie Boardman, was born February 8, 1924 and raised in Manchester, England.  Proudly served in the British Land Army during WWII where she found her passion for farming, animals, the sea and the outdoors.  She met first husband Gordon during this time, travelled, and worked in Paris.  Eventually they emigrated to Canada, settling and living in Hamilton for 25 years.   Leaving Ontario to live in PEI at age 52 filled her with a renewed sense of adventure.  With second husband Paul, she camped on the Island for their first 4 months. They bought in Pleasant Valley and finally settled in Granville in places that they personally transformed from buildings to homes into homesteads.  She loved the Island, loved her life on the farm, loved being near the sea and loved her family even more.  She had boundless energy and made friends wherever she went.  Margaret had the most positive outlook on life, was always trying something different and had an insatiable interest in learning a new craft or art form. She was constantly sewing or knitting.  She had a warm smile and generous laugh that will be forever remembered.  She made the most out of every day. Margaret was truly a very special daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend.   She loved living and loved life.

Margaret leaves behind brother Bryan, sons; Glen (Sharon), Paul (Cathy), Barry and Bryan and Annie (Roger), grandchildren; Marci, Ryan, Paula, Jacqulyn (deceased), Taylor, Meg, Jessica, Marsha, Kenzie, Trevor, Bailee, great-grandsons; Carson, Cole, and Crosby.

Margaret is predeceased by husband Paul.
